With the nation going World Cup mad, not even the Dragon Bar's Tuesday night exhibitions are safe from the madness!

One of my favourite artists of the moment is having a show at The Dragon Bar's This Way Up gallery next Wednesday, thats WEDNESDAY and not the usual Tuesdays.

Stephan Doitschinoff aka Calma will be exhibiting some of his new work at the bar and what with a brazillian match on the 13th... he will have his opening the following day on the 14th at 7pm.

Following on from the success of the Conor Harrington show, Stolenspace have lined up another fantastic show for us here in London. This Friday the 31st will see new works from the LA based artist Dave Kinsey.

This solo show will run for two weeks only from the 24th February - 7th March

For those of you who haven't heard of Conor Harrington yet, he is featured in the current issue of Graphotism and was part of "these are a few of our favourite fiends" show earlier last year at The Outside Institue Gallery. HIs work is a result of both formal and informal training in fine art and graffiti, using both oils and spray paint his work features opposites and contrasts and the tensions existing in such relationships when taking two opposing elements to develop a visual language.

Set up by the artist D*Face, stolenspace is the only dedicated urban contemporary art gallery, whose new home is at The Old Truman Brewery in east London.

Old School Graff Legends show has just opened at The Outside Institute. The show features the founding fathers and revolutionaries of graffiti.

In appearance:
Blade: The all time king of Graffiti in New York. The king of the trains
Flint: The first graffiti messenger 'For those who dare'
Tracy 168: One of the first generation Graffiti writers in New York in the late 60's. One of the original creators of this artform. Founder of the Wild Style, a legend and a giant

Pulse: One of the Godfathers of the British Graffiti / Hip Hop scene

Woa! its been over two months since we updated the site. We had some problems with stolen computers and internet connections, but we are now back online and just in time to let you know about the eagerly awaited Visuals Rockstars Show featuring Flying Fortress and Dave the Chimp at The Outside Institute.
During the month of August these 'Visual Rock Stars' will utilise the Outside Institute gallery as a blank canvas, the interior will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, character & wit. The event will be open to the public to visit the two artists as they work continuously on a stream of wall paintings, drawings, canvases, 3D work & crowd involved ambient 'tattooing'. The show openings in London continue this week:

First up is the "Fiends" show, a collection of contemporary UK artists at the Outside Institute. The show opens on the 20th and runs until June 19th. Check the site for more info and address details:

Next up is the"Origin of the Species" by Nick Walker at 17 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch. Show opens to the public on the 20th, Private View on the 19th 6-11 with an afterparty across the street from the gallery at Jaguar Shoes.

The enigma of Neck Face has intrigued many in the States, now in his first visit to the UK, the dpmhi gallery stages an exhibition of his twisted work.

Doodle Down: A Transatlantic Scrawl
On either sides of the atlantic two sets of artists, armed with pens, pencils and Poscas, will sit down on May 14th for a unique four hour intensive doodle face off. Utilising high-end moderntechnology (a scanner, a printer and a connection to the web) drawings, scrawls and scribbles will be passed to and from each artist creating the greatest art works the world have ever seen (or some nice doodles).

Featured in the UK arm of the first ever Doodle Down, tooled up and ready for action in Peepshow HQ, Bethnal Green, London, are such esteemed luminaries of todays exciting illustration art scene; Jon Burgerman / Miles Donavan /Andrew Rae / Paris Hair / Dominic Del Torto / Rex Crowley / Orko / Spencer Wilson / Luke Best/ Marie O'Conner

Opening this week on the 21st in the Camden Arms is a new show from the Monorex team. The show will feature new works, live painting on the night of the event and B-boy displays. Go check their website for more info on the event.

If you are in London, tomorrow the 1st April sees the anticipated opening of The Outside Institute Gallery to the public. This new gallery space has been set-up by London based artist D*Face. Along with the exhibition space the Institute will also include a shop selling paint, books, toys and T-shirts. And to kicks things off in the gallery space they have managed to get one of New York's true graffiti legends, SEEN for his first UK showing. This is one not to be missed. Next week sees the first new show of the year at 55DSL. KOA will be exhibiting and creating and in store installation for the 55DSL Newburgh Street store on 10th of March . The private view kicks off at 6.30pm at the Newburgh Street store and will feature canvas, plushtoys and other artworks. With music on the night provided by Kung-Fu and beers provided by Asahi its an event not to missed. Currently running down at the Dargon bars This Way Up gallery, is the Noki show titled "Suffocated Subversive Collage". The show opened on tuesday and runs until the 25th February. The Noki show is followed a week later with the final show in the Dragons Art is a Drag series with new work from Beta Maxx, Sol Crew & Space 3. The show titled "The Southern Coalition for the Dignity & the Persuit of Pleasure presents The Garden of Earthly Delights" opens on Tuesday the 1st March.
