Sweet Toof and Rolfcarlwerner at BSMT
BSMT SPACE is closing off 2017 with a one of a kind collab show combining the futuristic styles of Swedish writer Rolfcarlwerner with the gums and teeth of Hackney's finest graffoholic Sweet Toof. The basement gallery will be clad with cut-out forms from life size Skull Humanoids to cans and hi-rollers, as well as a multivariate of beautiful objects created by the artists individually.

No catalogues, no previews- you've got to get yourself there on the opening night of December 14th if you'd like to see it first! You'll also be treated to the sheer pleasure of Brewheadz, Tottenham's finest micro-brewery, who are sponsoring the opening night!

Printclub's 2017 Print-ern Show

After the brilliant success of their last 'Printernship,' Dalston based Print Club are super excited to share details of their latest, equally as inspiring offering from illustrators Francesca Tiley and Rozalina Burkova!

Towards the end of last year, they selected both girls to take part in their rewarding 'Printernship' scheme, allowing them to create a number of prints, whilst developing their own personal styles. The 'Printernship' opportunity allows recent graduates to print and create work in Print Club's studio, coupled with free desk space and guidance from fellow printers and technicians. Offering financial support along with their own creative direction and printing expertise, the scheme results in a series of prints from each artist exclusive to Print Club.

The exhibition will feature original works, limited edition screenprints and on one off ceramics by each artist and will also be the debut of their exciting collaboration together, with hand painted murals and exclusive prints available on the opening night.

For the opening night they have been sponsored by the amazing Poptails by LAPP!

Location: Print Club, Miller's Ave Unit 3, E8 2 London, United Kingdom

Stinkfish at BSMT Space in Dalston, London

For 15 years Stinkfish has been painting on the street, but this September BSMT SPACE will proudly open his first solo exhibition of works on paper.

This Colombia-based artist considers himself a Graffitist, his life revolves around graffiti and its principles of independence, anonymity, freedom and illegality. Painting with conviction without permission! The street is important to Stinkfish, he sees the common neighbourhoods and free spaces as an opportunity for people to politicise and observe at the same level.

'Portraits in Transit' is a story of the journey of his works, portraits that come from the street and transcend these spaces to return to the street. They are ordinary people captured by photograph, their image translated into his signature bright colour palette and re-imagined in a new context.

'Portraits in Transit' will be running from September 22nd to October 8th, with a private view on September 21st, 6pm. Thanks to Amigos for coming on board for this event, expect some ice cold beers at the opening! To attend the private view please RSVP: info@bsmt.co.uk.

BSMT SPACE is open Tue -Sat 12-7 and Sun 11-5.
You can find us at 5d Stoke Newington Rd, London, N168BH.

“For this show, I’ll be taking over the front gallery space, turning it into a hybrid gallery show / pop-up shop. I’ve always liked making small-edition collectibles; to me it’s a very natural extension of the work that I make. I recently refocused all the patches, pins, toys and other goodies under the Stay Melty brand. So we’ll have a bunch of those goodies in the shop there (and some new suprises as well)."

VNA Magazine – ‘ALL GOOD THINGS’ 10-Year Anniversary Exhibition

As the saying goes, ALL GOOD THINGS must come to an end and, after 10 amazing years, Very Nearly Almost Magazine is shutting up shop.

Finishing on a high that has seen the front cover graced by some of the brightest stars of the contemporary art world, including D*Face, Invader, Shepard Fairey, Futura, Swoon, Martha Cooper and more, the team behind VNA have made the difficult decision to draw this chapter to a close with an exhibition and forthcoming book.

In celebration of the incredible people that have made the magazine what it is, VNA are presenting their 10th Anniversary group show with some of the team’s favourite featured artists. 50+ artists make up this hand-picked selection of the world’s top talent, showing in one of East London’s longest-running contemporary urban art institutions, StolenSpace Gallery.

Showcasing work from all over the world, ‘ALL GOOD THINGS’ is comprised of original artworks, exclusive artist proofs and hand-finished prints from some of the leading international artists - artists who have helped shape the scene as we know it today. The VNA team has also assembled a tailored collection of some of the brightest new painters making waves across the globe.

BSMT Space exhibition: Lolie Darko 'La Fete Triste'

BSMT Space are proud to announce that French artist Lolie Darko will be showcasing her enchanting, big-eyed paintings in her first solo show 'La Fête Triste' here at the Dalston based gallery!

In this gloriously sullen and dark affair Lolie will be challenging our preconceptions in her thought-provoking artwork which depicts a cynical reality sustained by these sad, watery-eyed children as well as our views towards this naive vision of innocence.

Lolie paints walls in both Paris and London, using brushes and spray paint to deliver her topical message of disillusionment. For her solo show she has translated the same dismal imagery onto canvas, using either acrylics or oil paint for more detailed rendering. Join us for this splendidly dour celebration!

Private view March 30th.
Open to the public from March 31st- April 13th.
RSVP's for the private view to: info@bsmt.co.uk
